America struggled to heal after Sept 11th. Anyone that was within the United States of America then knows that. Family and friends of those who died were devastated. Not only that, but history books show everyone in the country at the time to be hurt by it. President Obama makes it seem like September 11th wasn’t as hard for the country as it truly was. Liz Cheney rebukes President Obama for what he states about the attack.
What was Obama’s statement?
President Obama explained how he felt about the September 11th terrorist attack, along with all of other terrorist attacks. ”Obama Wars” is the brand new book Bob Woodward wrote. In it, President Obama is quoted saying:
We can absorb a terrorist attack. We’ll do everything we can to prevent it, but even a 9/11, the biggest attack ever… we absorbed it and we are stronger.”
Liz Cheney, daughter of Dick Cheney, got really mad at the statement being made.
Cheney’s answer to it
Liz Cheney was mad at Obama. This was as a result of the terror attack statement he made. The way she viewed it, Obama said clearly that he didn’t plan on using all of his power and resources to protect America. She called for an explanation from Obama about this.
CBS News reports her saying:
Americans expect our President to…use everyeach tool at his disposal to find, defeat, capture and kill terrorists. We expect him to…make it clear to our adversaries that an attack on the United States will carry devastating consequences. Instead, President Obama is reported to have said, ‘We can absorb a terrorist attack.’ This comment suggests an alarming fatalism on the part of President Obama… The President owes the American people an explanation.
More people are interested in a conclusion
The Obama terror attack comment is raising a couple of heads. People would like an explanation. 12 News has Bilal wondering why the president would even think about making a remark like that. He was one more one concerned about what exactly was said. He wanted to know why the president wouldn’t be doing anything he can to protect America. Many others are wondering why the President would be egging on terrorists to come to the country. Then there is Mitch Marconi. He thinks that every person is just overreacting to the remark as a result of the joy they get in criticizing the Obama administration with Cheney. It does not really matter if they are overreacting or not. Every person still expects Obama to explain.
