”The Other Guys” is the new cop film that came out on Friday. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell and Steve Coogan. The “Other Guys” reviews so far are quite positive. Both the leading actors (Ferrell and Wahlberg) had some misfires in the last few years, and consensus among critics is “The Other Guys” is a step within the right direction. Adam McKay, director of “Anchorman,” “Talledega Nights” and “Stepbrothers,” directed this film.
‘The Other Guys’ has old plot, new faces
In the film, a cop (Wahlberg) is given a new assignment after accidentally shooting Derek Jeter. He starts working on white collar crime with a new partner, Will Ferrell, who’s an accountant in forensics. They go to take down a businessman (Steve Coogan) and his plan. It is certainly a comedy. Every plot has been done before, just like this one. It’s the personalities that make the difference between studios losing money or striking box office gold.
The movies reviews were good
So far, the film has a rating of 79 percent good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Ratings for the last two Will Ferrell movies, “Land of the Lost” and “The Goods,” got less than 30 percent on their ratings. Wahlberg has been doing poorly too considering he hasn’t had a film since 2007 get more than a 32 percent. Critics have said the movie is although it is definitely idiotic humor. According to Kurt Loder from MTV, the movie is not all that smart but is a great comedy for summer.
Might be good to watch
This may be what you need if you would like a goofy comedy. Many Americans may just need this amusing movie with all the grim things happening within the economy.
